Prequalification (Contractor services)

Why become prequalified with NJDOT?

  • To be eligible to bid as a prime contractor for department projects
  • To be eligible to subcontract for department projects (only if project specifications require as such)
  • Jurisdictions from the state of new jersey (e.g. counties and municipalities) may require prequalification with the department to be eligible to bid on their projects
    • S2863 passed in June 2019 states that for projects awarded in excess of $5,000,000 and are funded, in whole or in part, by the local aid program, bidders are to be prequalified with the Department
